"bij het ontwerpen van oana, heb ik geprobeerd de verborgen mogelijkheden van een bloemknopje te vervatten. bij haar prille begin nog net voor het ontluiken, kan je haar mogelijke schoonheid al ervaren. gesofisticeerd in haar eenvoud verbergt ze een schat aan vormen en kleuren. deze natuurlijke speelsheid en elegantie heb ik getracht weer te geven in een heldere vormgeving met een intrinsieke beweeglijkheid." - caroline dobbs

danny venlet ... oïlo

belgisch design van de week ...

this fix blow moulded glass dish with integrated candleholder is inspired by an island in the ocean, a dream image we all dream of. hence the name oïlo.

the asymmetrical placement of the island or candleholder is to give the object a more natural look. with curved edges to create a natural beach-like edge.

the design is conceived this way that the use of the object be very flexible, left up to the imagination of the user. could be a dish that can de filled with water and several flowers or be filled with chips and a dip sauce.

stefan schöning ... ozone

belgisch design van de week ...

'ozone' as a pupre form of oxygen or 'oxygène' in french, essential elemente fot fire and flames.

the small gap in the shape of the logo at the bottom of the hurricane lamps servs as an extra supply of oxygen, allowing the candle the proper tempo to burn fully.

the base of warm wood and the beel glass connect seamlessly and ensure a harmonious combination, furthermore the top curve provides an extra protection for the candle. the candle fits in a glass holder, which facilitates maintenance and usebility considerably.

the soft curves, a typical design characteristic of stefan schöning, are related to the warmth and softness of the light that the flame radiates.
